During 2nd and 4th April 2015 in Chisinau at the Jolly Alon hotel took place the international forum of women entrepreneurs uniting representatives from Moldova, Albania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. The topic was the unemployment among women and the possibilities to open new jobs.

Recently Business and Professional Women’s Association of Moldova, in partnership with Balkan Business Women from Small and Medium Enterprises, Gender Task Force, Chamber of Commerce from the Republic of Modlova and with the support of the European Centre for Initiatives of Trieste organized the Third International Conference “Women’s Entrepreneurship contributes to job creation”, which took place at Jolly Alon Hotel.

The purpose of the event was to promote women entrepreneurs through joint efforts and from the equal remuneration of men and women, in public and private entities, exchanging experiences among women entrepreneurs from both the Republic of Moldova and women from participating countries such as Albania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia. The event brought together women entrepreneurs and representatives of Parliament, governmental and non-governmental youth who has the will and motivation to start a business. Moldavian women entrepreneurs are able to integrate into the European market. This goal is part of the strategy, which is promoted by the Government through the Association Agreement with the EU. Thus, employees from every sector of the economy should contribute through his efforts at the implement of the country’s goal.

“During the last 17 years BPW Moldova has undertaken a number of practical measures that have helped to strengthen the civil society in creating and building up forces, as well as experience through a whole range of NGOs in the country and abroad. They contributed to informing, educating, and providing access to information during the organized courses, seminars, round tables in national and local mass media. The implementation of the Project was carried out thanks to the support of the Council of Europe, the Governments of Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, involving both the central and local governments, as well as public associations, “said Angela Chicu, the president of the Association of Business and Professional Women from Moldova.

One important pitfall of the Moldavian labor market is the exodus of skilled labor, which moved abroad, but could have contributed to the development of the Moldovan economy. Therefore the basic aim of all projects implemented in Moldova is organization of professional trainings, exchanges of noble practices that will strengthen the capacities of women in Moldova in this field, which will allow women to carry out business activities, while being equally respected and independent.

The business activities led by women will contribute to the economic growth and development of Moldova which in turn will be reflected in the GDP growth and decent living standards.

After several presentations made by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Valeriu Lazar, President of the National Confederation of Trade Union, Oleg Budza, MP and member of the parliamentary committee for the budget and economy Valentina Buliga, and representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Agency for Employment, Organization for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, the EBRD, UN Women, Civil Society Platform for Europe and others. During the conference was held a workshop. The guests of the conference met representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where they met representatives of Ungheni, Edinet and Hincesti subsidiaries. During the discussion the guests acquainted with the activities, policies and structure of subsidiaries. During the conference an exhibition of craftsmen took place.

Business and Professional Women’s Association of Moldova was founded in 1998 and is part of the International Business Professional Women International network covering more than 168 countries, with consultative status to all UN umbrella organizations such as UN Women, ILO, CEDAW, UNESCO, UNICEF , etc.
