On December 4-6, 2019 in Brussels took place the 11th Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership “EaP4EU: Joining forces for a beneficial bilateral partnership”, attended by representatives of BPW Moldova.
On 4 december we are participate in the parliamentary EU Neighbourhood East Forum titled ‘United in Association’ there discussed ” European Trio process for the most advanced Eastern Partners to support the reforms of leading EU associated countries of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova” . The Eastern Partnership policy up until now took an important part in this discussion, as the European Parliament has established the European Parliamentary Assembly (Euronest), which plays a leading role in shaping the debate on the future of our relations with EU Eastern Partners. In order to facilitate this and to assist the
Euronest, we propose to establish in the European Parliament an informal permanent forum of discussions open to all interested MEPs, which we could call as ‘The EU Neighbourhood East Forum’.
During the Forum, on 5 December attended by Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi.
The Forum is gathering over 200 civil society representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the European Union to debate strategies and opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the EU and government as well as societies of the six countries.
Addressing the Forum, Commissioner Várhelyi said: “An empowered civil society is a key driver for strengthening democracy, public accountability, advancement of human rights and resilience. The role of the Civil Society Forum and the organisations you represent will be key in shaping the future of a successful Eastern Partnership throughout my mandate”
The 11th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, taking place from 4-6 December, is focusing on the potential of technological and digital solutions for reform in the area of the rule of law and governance. Panelists include civil society activists and government representatives from the Eastern Partnership as well as EU officials.
At the end of the work was voted the Eastern Partnership Declaration.
