Rural Action for Innovative and Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Youth (RAISE), the project supported by Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Estonian Embassy, will are duration 6 months (September, 2020 till February 2021). Rural Action for Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Youth will tackle the non-existing job market for young people from rural areas facing depopulation through a social innovation involving synergy between sustainable agriculture, tourism, digital technologies and entrepreneurship.
The young people want to work at home. If until now the young people were doing higher education in Moldova and then they would leave the country, well lately it is the tendency to give Baccalaureate and leave abroad. Even if young people find work, money, they get depressed because the work they find is not at all connected with the profession they were trained for, their jobs are illegal, and the most painful thing is the fact that they are far away from those they love.
We will begin training direct 750 students and 50 teachers in the Center, North, South of Moldova, or districts from different region of our country (Hincesti, Singerei, Orhei, Ungheni, Glodeni, but indirect 1300 young people and 240 teachers). Young people (16-18 old), specially young women from districts of the country faced with lack of information in different fields of economy, but in specially including how to open a business, how and where to register it, how to maintain and grow it, which is the business culture. Thus, supporting balanced and equidistant information, diversity of opinions and experience from Estonian and Moldavian experts by creating thematic trainings will achieve the expected results.
The main of project: will stop the excessive exodus of our young people, inclusively young women and they will have the courage to realize their dreams in Moldova.
Information training will target a huge variety of young people, no matter of the gender, age and other socio-economic and demographic characteristics. Given that such projects tend to expand women’s and young people access to public services, women and young people must be considered in particular as the target audience.
We need this project to encourage the young people, specially rural to stayed at home, not go abroad. To learn how to open your own business, using the new technologies. To learn how to manage and grow this business. Also we would like to promote European experience and values, specially experience of Estonian experts, European integration, based on stopping migration from Moldova. We want to offer civic education to people, and to offer them opportunity to take decisions.
The winners were awarded
On 25-29 May, 20 21 , Finally, the project implemented by the Association of Professional and Business Women from Moldova entitled “Rural Action for Innovative and Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Youth” was successfully implemented. Why do we consider this project a success? Because we were able, in force majeure circumstances, to reach the objectives, we trained about 250 young people aged between 16 and 18 years from 5 different districts of the Republic of Moldova. And in the end, the best business plans were selected and 5 young people were declared winners. They were given laptops worth 500 euros with the logos of the project. Basically they were children from low-income families and without the help of the project it would be difficult for them to realize their ideas. In their speech of gratitude, the young winners said that they are very grateful for the trust and promised to register their companies as soon as possible and install the accounting software. Until the last moment they could not believe that they had won and would receive the prize.
Moreover, we consider the project a success because in addition to young people, adults have also joined us. These are heads of local municipalities, heads and representatives of schools and vocational training institutions who are very interested in the development of centers for entrepreneurship, in which both youth and adults would regularly receive trainings on drawing up a business plan and the development of their own business.
During the presentation of prizes participated directors and teachers of educational institutions, representatives of the Department of Education and Culture under the Ministry of Education and Culture, representatives of local authorities, and in some places, the first persons of the district (mayor’s office).
The project was implemented thank the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.

Hincesti – New knowledge, new possibilities to find a way
The training START UP “How to start a business in their own country. Introduction to business” within the frames of the project “Innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship for young people”, carried out with the support of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was an opportunity to motivate young graduates from the Professional School in Hancesti to work at home, set up a business, open new jobs, as a result to eradicate poverty, which is crushing our country.
The 9thOctober 2020, the day of the presentation of the project “Innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship for young people”, was a special day for the students from the Professional School in Hancesti. The students organized a trade fair “The Fruits of Autumn 2020”, which impressed all participants with pastries, prepared by students, and also with decorations, hand-made protective masks, clothes and other items presented by students-tailors. The quality and beauty of the garments, but also the price more than affordable, did not leave us indifferent, and in the end almost all items were sold out.
Young people aged 16-18 years were selected for the training.Shy, modest, good, students sipped with great care every word of the international trainer Olga Andreev, Member of the Association of Professional and Business Women of Moldova. Emotional, with a strong motivational impact, the word of the trainer gave an impetus to the realization of the dream through self-discipline, personal development, emotional intelligence, hard work in order to reach the peak of the chosen profession studying deeplyits secrets. There were presented real examples of big entrepreneurs, sportsmen, successful actors, and at the same time there were recommended books for reading, to obtain the most rational use of time, mention Angela Chicu, coordinator of project.
Step by step, students followed in their imagination the way to a successfulbusiness, exposed their thoughts and personal views on the profession, which could become a business, but also the desire to work at home with their beloved ones. They also received motivational leaflets, the Guide “Organizational and Legal Forms of Enterprises and Registration Procedure” – a very useful material for future graduates, willing to start a business in the Republic of Moldova.
Ungheni – Another training in another town
Another town and another experience in Gh. Asachi Theoretical High School from Ungheni. On October 17, 2020, within the project “Innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship for young people”, students were trained how to start a business in their country. Step by step, the students imagined the road to a successful business, they exposed their thoughts and personal visions about the profession, which could become a business, but also the desire to work at home near to their relatives and friends. Students were very enthusiastic and excited to work in groups although they had to respect the distance of one meter and wore masks. They exchanged views and thoughts about how they would open their own business in the near future. Some even decided to join forces and to start a common business.
Deputy Director Oxana Timosco managed to organize and bring young people together, explaining how useful it is to participate in such trainings.
At the same time, all the participants received motivational leaflets, as well as the Guide “Organizational and legal forms of enterprises and registration procedure” – a very useful material for future graduates, eager to open a business in the Republic of Moldova.
The mineral resources of Glodeni are represented by: crushed stone, clay, sand – the raw material for constructions and for other purposes. These deposits of natural resources are openly extracted. There are many economic agents involved in this process. So appeared the idea to include this district in our project and to select young people who will want to start a business.
Thus, on October 20, 2020, we went to the professional school in Glodeni. There the deputy director Ala Bodnari, who devoted practically his whole life to the children, was waiting for us. The group we had to train was made up of 17-18-year-old boys from different villages of Glodeni district. The young people listened carefully to the presentation of the international trainer Olga Andreev, who told what is motivation, what types there are. Likewise, the young people found out about the elevator pitch, how to present themselves and their ideas in a very short time.
At the end of the training, each participant had to write how he sees himself in business in a close perspective. For many boys this was a big challenge because they are not prepared and have a lot of work to do. Thus our training was very welcome. Even if they will not open their own business in the near future, they have the chance to do it later, receiving the literature and having the desire to read more to remember what Olga Andreev said during the presentation.
Singerei – Entrepreneurship as a career option
The focus of many projects in recent years has been directed towards training young people in business. So, those who manage to join the movement consider themselves lucky, because they are led step by step along this path. The project “How to open a business at home” reached Sangerei town on October 31. Several young people aged from 16 to 18 years from different villages of the Sangerei district were looking forward to the training. Some of them came long before because they were afraid of missing some useful information. Every notice in the notebook will serve in future to gather their thoughts and ideas to transform them into a personal business.
They have learned a number of useful and interesting things about leadership and teambuilding. How to be a leader in life and business. How analytical thinking helps the business. What opportunities exist if you launch into the business. At the same time, the international trainer Olga Andreev told the young people about the ten steps to turn an idea into reality. The interactive approach of the training has allowed young people to show their vision or opinion about how they see their future business.
In the course of the training participants received donator’s logotype cases and instructional materials, which will be useful for self-study at home. This project is being carried out thanks to the generous support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
Singerei – A new group of young people trained how to start a business
The second training for young people about how to start a business took place in Singerei region on 6 November. There were young people coming from different villages, eager to get acquainted with how they can start their own business at home. During the training young people aged between 16 and 18 years learned how to assume the leading role in their own life and career, how to generate new
ideas for your own business, stimulate the desire to start your own business as an entrepreneur or to develop and promote personal skills, ideas and products. There are many business models, lots of opportunities and options and we just need to discover them.
The young people found out information about sources of motivation, different types of motivation, and how they can motivate themselves. They also discussed the competences of a leader or how a team should be created and maintained. Although it is very difficult to work during the pandemic period, because we need to keep the social distance and work in groups is impossible, but Olga Andreev successfully involved young people in different games and activities with the aim of getting every person into action. So there were used such practical tasks as: What motivates you?, find out the level of your emotional intelligence, agree and disagree using arguments, during this practice every young participant expressed his point of view.
At the end of the training all participants wrote and presented their business ideas, short Elevator Pitches (it was taught during the training). Participants introduced the fields of their interest, products or a services they can offer. Their teachers as well expressed their points of view together with their young students.
