In the framework of the Friendship Week for Peace project, promoted by GNRC “Arigatou International” and organized by the Association of Professional and Business Women, children celebrated the World Peace Day at the Lyceum in Edinet.
Since 1981, according UN General Assembly resolution, September 20th is celebrated each year as World Peace Day.
Today, when a large part of the world’s population is in a state of conflict, inclusively Moldova with Transnistrian separatist region from 1992, children have tried to be the messengers of peace, to send a message this day, that people stop hostilities, for to celebrate this day and so to raise public awareness about peace issues have been organized several activities, such as:various drawing competitions, including asphalt. Hand made exhibition. The children (total about 850) also prepared a wonderful concert with poems and songs. a message board for peace was created in the creation workshop. The panel and drawings pictures were exhibited at a venue dedicated to this day’s exhibition.
In the opening ceremony, the representatives of the Culture and Education Directorate thanked those present for the interest shown by sending their parents: “Each of us must promote peace with love, and educate our children in a spirit of respect and understanding, to be true models for our children, to open the chapters of education through goodwill. “
We celebrate the International Peace Day through the project “Friendship Week for Peace” through various activities to draw our community’s attention to the fact that peace is the most precious gift.
