Biodegradable detergents are composed of food enzymes and non-pathogenic bacteria. There are no health hazards in their use and they do not have a negative impact on the environment, so they are also said to be ecological detergents. If in the case of chemical detergents, the bacteria in the activated sludge are killed, in the case of biodegradable detergents things are the opposite. These organic detergents degrade and transform grease and dirt into non-hazardous components, producing a non-toxic gas. “

Eudochia Tcaci, the Chief of Public Health Center of Chisinau, spoke about the chemical compounds of the detergents and their toxic effect on humans. “We often ask ourselves where our allergy is, or our children, and we start looking for food, beverages, animals, but we do not realize that detergents can cause allergic reactions,” said Mrs. Eudochia.

SLS or SLES are the most harmful substances to avoid, the Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) chemical can irritate the eyes and the scalp and produce the split hair effect. SLES irritates the fragile eyes of children. Whoever has children knows that they have a tendency – when they take a bath – to bring their hands to their mouth and face, so the substance definitely gets into their eyes and the most exposed to the negative effects. According to several studies, the 1,4-dioxane chemical compound has a cancerous potential. In Canada, this ingredient is on the list of prohibited substances in cosmetics. “
