On 3 October, 2017, Association of Professional Women of Moldova made the totals of the national drawing contest entitled “I have the right to a decent life!”, dedicated to poverty. This contest was announced at country level in May 2017, immediately after the Panama Declaration during 5th Panama Forum (9-11 May, 2017). Was attended by children aged between 7 and 16 years, according to the Contest Rules.
Taking into consideration that Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe and children don’t have childhood because they have to work hard together with their parents. There were many expressive drawings about children’s lives. Many drawings showed the sad faces of children with tears. 99% of the drawings reflected poverty, exploitation in the country and in their villages.
Each child presented the story of his soul’s. We, the mature members of the association, were very impressed and shocked by their logical child thinking. They, at their early age, could express their difficult and hard lives as they are in reality. Unfortunately, many children did not have money to come to Chisinau to raise their awards. After the totals, of the national contest, on 3 october,2017, Angela Chicu, the president of the association, presented the general information about GNRC organization, about big international network and explained what it does, about his actions and mission. Finally those who were interested were invited to join this network.
In the end, all children served sweets, juice and took a picture together. Absolutely all children received certificates of participation in the contest and sweets, and those who took the first three places received gifts. In total, there were about 350 children from different regions of Moldova, such as Soldanesti, Singerei, Ungheni, Straseni, Hincesti, Comrat, Chisinau.
