The theme of the Fifth BPW AdrionNet Forum was: “Cultural tourism, gender equality and innovation: opportunities for an inclusive future in the Adriatic-Ionian area” where BPW Moldova also participated.
It started in Palermo with a conference held on 17 October at the Ex Oratorio dei Santi Elena e Costantino on the theme of the Forum.
More than one hundred representatives from European countries and beyond participated in the hybrid conference.
The conference was sponsored by the Presidency of the Sicilian Region, the ARS, the Municipality of Palermo, the Municipality of Bagheria, Confcommercio, Terziario Donna and Confindustria.
Talking about cultural tourism is important because it offers a unique opportunity to explore and understand the history and traditions of  different communities. By promoting cultural heritage, we actively encourage the sustainability and conservation of places of historical and artistic interest.
Cultural tourism promotes intercultural dialogue, encouraging mutual understanding and respect between different nations, creating a deeper bond between different cultures  and playing a fundamental role in the social and economic growth of regions.
Furthermore, according to the UN, tourism plays a key role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, in particular Goal 5: gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
This V-th Forum aims to offer all AdrionNet members and others the opportunity to present their local realities and the projects they have carried out, as well as to exchange good practices. The goal is for these to become systemic actions in all the territories involved.
This Forum will lead to many future actions to promote cultural tourism, women and the territories in which they are actively involved.
The Fifth BPW AdrionNet Forum also included events in Selinunte,Trapani, Cefalù and Bagheria, dedicating a specific space to meetings and network activities in these important Sicilian locations, with the aim of enhancing the territory and promoting good practices in cultural tourism and equal opportunities.
