Opportunities for modern jewelry and design learning from German specialists

At the end of January 2015, the second module of the professional training project in jewelry and design was ended in Moldova. It’s for the first time when international specialists from Germany came to Moldova for training a group of people who have embraced this noble art.

A group consisting of craftsmen from the country, students and teachers, 18 and 60 years aged were trained by Nana and Jurgen Prestel in Idar- Oberstein, Germany in the second module.

 

During the course, participants had the opportunity to learn new technologies with application of  unique practices, used by specialists, as well as Prestel family members, renewed worldwide. If during the first module, participants learned more theory than practice, in the second module was inversely. So, together was chosen the figure, later to be executed chart after it in wax as later that noble metal to be poured. Those who follow the training course will learn to manufacture jewelry required both on domestic market as well as on European one. Intelligence, patients, ability to know human psychology  and understand soul and character of each participant is the success key of famous sculptors and jewelers from Idar-Oberstein, city in which beginning with fifteenth century precious stones where extracted, processed and traded. Due to this small town, with a population of 24,000 inhabitants, Germany ranks first place in the world in jewelry trade.

Training takes place in a professional development project which was launched at the initiative of Professional and Business Women’s Association of Moldova which president is Angela Chicu. The project aim is professional forming and opening forward new jobs in Moldova.

Jewelers say that apart of the fact this thing brings satisfaction, however, they will never remain without a piece of bread.

German experts focus on modern jewelry design and style beginning from the national culture, previously making a market study and requirements from Moldova.

Jewelry professional development project was implemented with the generous support of  Ministry of Foreign  Affairs of Germany, Koblenz Chamber of Commerce(Germany) and Balkan Women’s Association of Small and Medium Enterprises with headquarters at Sofia.
